Grenada is an island country in the Caribbean Sea
Grenada is a picturesque island nation in the Caribbean Sea, known as the «Spice Island» due to its abundance of spices and herbs, most notably nutmeg. The capital of the country is St. George’s, and the official language is English. Grenada is famous for its white beaches, crystal clear waters, and welcoming atmosphere.
It is an attractive destination for both tourists and investors, thanks to its stable economy and citizenship by investment program.
Benefits of Grenada Citizenship
A Grenada passport provides visa-free or visa-free entry to over 135 countries, including the UK, Schengen Area countries, Singapore, Hong Kong and China (up to 30 days).
Citizens of Grenada may qualify for an E-2 investor visa, which allows them to live and do business in the United States by investing in a U.S. business.
Grenadian passport holders can obtain a B-1/B-2 tourist visa to the United States for 10 years at a time, allowing them to stay in the country for up to 180 days per year.
Grenada imposes no taxes on worldwide income, dividends, interest, inheritance, capital gains and wages.
Citizens of Grenada can register international companies to optimize taxes and simplify settlements with foreign partners. In this case, the founder's data is not entered into the trade register, which ensures additional confidentiality.
The Grenada citizenship program allows you to include your spouse, children under 30, parents, and siblings in your application.
Grenada Citizenship by Investment Programs
Investments in the National Transformation Fund
The National Transformation Fund (NTF) is a government fund responsible for funding projects that will benefit the Grenada economy and help diversify it. Applicants who choose this route are required to make a one-time contribution of $235,000 to the NTF. It is important to note that applicants cannot contribute to the NTF in person, but must use the services of an authorized local agent. Once an investment has been made into the NTF, applicants can either apply for citizenship directly or apply for permanent residence first and then apply for citizenship at a later stage.
Real Estate Investments
To participate in the program, an investor must make an investment of at least $270,000 in one of the funds approved by the government of Grenada. By investing in this sector, participants not only gain citizenship but also purchase real estate in Grenada. After 5 years, the investor can sell the property and return the invested amount.
Five Steps to Grenadian Citizenship
To obtain Grenada citizenship through the investment program, you must complete the following steps:
The applicant must select an authorized international marketing agent to assist with the application process. Direct application to the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Committee (CBIC) is not permitted; all applications must be submitted through such agents.
The applicant prepares the necessary documents, including filling out official forms, undergoing a medical examination and collecting supporting documents. All documents must be in English and duly legalized. If the applicant plans to invest in real estate, a purchase and sale agreement must be concluded.
Once all documents are prepared, the authorized local agent submits the application to the CBIC Executive Office and is responsible for further communication with the CBIC on all matters related to the application. Currently, a mandatory interview is not required.
The government conducts a thorough background check on the applicant. Once the check is complete, the CBIC makes a recommendation and the final decision is taken by the Minister of Citizenship. The applicant is notified of the outcome through his/her agent.
If the application is approved, the applicant must make the required contribution (e.g. to the National Transformation Fund) or complete the purchase of real estate. Once payment is confirmed, the CBIC issues a certificate of registration, confirming the acquisition of Grenadian citizenship. The agent then uses this certificate to process the Grenadian passport for the applicant.
Basic requirements for obtaining citizenship
